Inspiring

In August 1986 few kids in Kerala were expelled from their school for refusing to sing the Indian National Anthem, 'Jana Gana Mana'. A parent appealed to the Supreme Court on grounds on 'fair treatment'.
Supreme Court ordered the school authorities to re-enroll the students and went on to add the following to their decision:
"Our tradition teaches tolerance, our philosophy preaches tolerance, our Constitution practices tolerance, let us not dilute it".

I think this is phenomenal... truly democratic, I say !

Happy Birthday, Independent India :)

She is 64 years old now... 64 years of Independence for my country, India :) This joy of independence reflects perfectly on the faces of the billion. The billions who call her 'Maa'. But this independence was not an inheritance.
She fought, faced tyranny, saw her children bleed, cry, losing hope and die. All of this to make the mother independent.
Today, I am forced to ponder about all but one thing .. If we are even valuing what we indeed enjoy as our rights, that is our independence? If I rant about how our politicians are spoling our country or how some of our states clearly exemplify failed governance, how corruption is associated as an imbibed attribute when Indians are talked about, how caste based reservation is still a wild card to bring upon supposed 'liberation and equality' to all the under privileged classes of people.. etc, etc it might sound like a vote bank speech!!
To be honest I have done very, very little to protest against things I feel are absolutely wrong about the administration but obviously it is not enough and that in itself excludes me from complaining about all 'wrong' things.
But I feel bad. Very, very bad and at the same time I feel very small too. Small in might.
There are many things one can write. Good and bad. As a signing off note, I hope and pray..
Independence to all in every aspect. An independence free from bias. An independence beyond caste and creed. An independence to be cherished. I hope in the end everyone remembers that Independece is not just about freedom but is about Responsibility.

Here is to my mother, My country !!

I believe that every moment of our lives has a purpose associated with it. Some go on to make us stronger , wiser , some to make us more careful , smarter some to teach us to appreciate the little things that matter , dismiss things that don't But most of all to never take for granted the ones who love you.....

I feel like..

I want to run away
I want to fly away
I want to sing
I want to dance
I want to get wet in the rain
I want to be in the shades
I want to paint. Paint the town in Red.
I want you. Just you.

Interesting thought !!

This is an excerpt from a forwarded email I received from my close pal, MDC:

Me: One last question. Sometimes I feel my prayers are not answered.

God : There are no unanswered prayers. At times the answer is NO.

God: Well. Keep the faith and drop the fear.
Don't believe your doubts and doubt your beliefs.
Life is a mystery to solve not a problem to resolve.
Trust me. Life is wonderful if you know how to live.
"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away!
